On Kootenay Lake things are different.  The air is sweet and pure. The water is crystal clear and fresh. People are free to live the life that they've always wanted.  It's a heaven of outdoor activity.  Snowmobiling and skiing in the winter, golf, mountain biking, hiking, ATV's and water-sports in the summer.  Kootenay Lake is one of BC's largest lakes and it is known for its beauty and excellent fishing.

The climate is such that people can grow plentiful gardens and fruit trees if they wish, and many do.  Local markets provide fresh produce during the summer months.

The community of Crawford Bay is known for its friendly, energetic and artistic nature. Being home to many artisan shops selling handmade goods as well as an incredible golf course designed by world renowned golf course architect Norman Woods.

Crawford Bay boasts a beautiful new school for kindergarten through grade twelve.  Completed in 2009, the school won an award from sustainable Architecture & Building Magazine for its design.

During the summer months the community bustles with extra life as people from all over come to visit, many having family cabins and cottages in the area.  The tourism industry flourishes and business opportunities abound.
